Mario Fusetti via ferrata - sasso di stria
Level: Medium/Difficult
Duration: 4h
Distance: 3.5 km
An adventurous and historical climbing route. Located above Passo Falzarego, the Mario Fusetti via ferrata leads to the summit of Sasso di Stria (2,477 m), offering panoramic views and a journey through WWI history. Sasso de Stria is a 2,477-meter-high alpine peak located in the Dolomites, in the province of Belluno. It rises majestically above the Falzarego Pass, directly facing the Tofana di Rozes and the Lagazuoi.
The hike begins near Forte Tre Sassi and descends to the “Edelweiss” post, passing old military positions camouflaged into the landscape. The medium-difficulty via ferrata (240 m) leads up to well-preserved trenches and eventually the summit, with 360° views that reach as far as the Marmolada on clear days.
The descent follows a long, well-marked trail that loops back to the starting point, completing a truly unforgettable alpine experience.
